Not surprisingly, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s latest TrendSignal increased +8 points to 81 as his administration confronts growing unrest in Istanbul’s Taksim Square. The Prime Minister is now the 5th-ranked leader in the June 2013 World Leaders report, two spots below fellow middle east leader Bashar al-Assad at 83.
Erdoğan is well ahead of the World Leader category average of 60 and is in the Leading quadrant compared to his peers. Segment-level TrendSignal is strong with the exception of blogs, showing that, unlike previous “Arab Spring” protests, the story is not yet developing traction in social media.
