In the Technology Trends category, Wearable Technology was down -2 TrendSignal points for the April reporting period for a TrendSignal of 51, but up +20 points compared with last year – showing the trend is still gaining sizable media attention. (I’m still waiting for one of the jet packs we were promised 30 years ago.)
No surprise given the broad media fascination with Google Glass. The slight drop in April reflects the post-buzz lull after Google’s March PR storm. But the overall momentum and growth for Wearable Technology is strong as it continues to outpace other technologies in this highly competitive trend category.
